Most of us remember the little karate man known as Mr. Miyagi in the movie "The Karate Kid". On Thanksgiving Day 2005, at the age of 73, Pat Morita “Mr. Miyagi” past away leaving a void that will never be filled. Though not a martial artist, Mr. Morita masterfully captured the embodiment of a Karate Sensei. Though technically not a Karate Sensei, Mr. Morita's character reached the world in a way most other Sensei could only hope to dream of. For his contribution to Karate Do, "Mr. Miyagi" will always have a special place of honor in the hearts and minds of my family and our dojo.
